Vandevelde was really a bright spot for the Americans to latch onto, although none of us probably thought he could win.

Hopefully next year will be a stronger on for America. I'd like to see an all-American team.

There are not many blacks in road cycling, this is true. But Steel, I bet you haev see at least one; do you recall Nelson Vails? He won an olympic medal, as I recall. Unless you meant live. There are a couple black guys around here that ride and there is one guy that is quite fast and has a beautiful black colnago c-40 that I lust after. I see him quite often when I am commuting.
