Default CG is infecting my thoughts

Today during our guided tour of Carlsbad Caverns, a kid asked the ranger "who made the cave?". She did a pretty good job of being PC ... but I couldn't help but think of our recent discussions re: science, creationism, evolution, etc.

How do I get a vacation from CG?

So, who made the cave? Don't leave us hanging.

Mother nature was her initial answer. Then a kid asked "was it God?" Poor gal. She said, well to some people Mother nature is God. Etc. Pretty funny.

BTW, one interesting note. There is a tunnel they blasted out in the 20's that has some stalactites started from the roof. They are about 1/4" long. They estimate under wet condtions the formations can grow about 1" per 100 years.

How does that fit with the earth being 6000 years old or whatever? Wait, I know. The cave came from another planet intact right?

Did you think the earth was 6000 years old before you started reading Cougarguard? I don't get it.

No, but the hard core creationists do. That's what I was referring to.
