I think there were only two good movies in this lineup. I thought The English Patient was fabulous but I gave the edge to SL.

I finally sucked it up and saw Braveheart the other day. The movie does not seem to have aged well. The battle scenes were spectacular, but I couldn't get past Gibson's craggy 40-year old face (he's lived a hard life, I can tell) playing a teenager. Also, with all that's happened since, I couldn't help but noticing Gibson's hatreds and extreme sentimentalities dramatized with every plot turn. Films like The English Patient and Lust, Caution that sometimes say more by what they leave unsaid are alien to him. He's from the Spielberg school of filmmaking, but not nearly as good at it. The political intrigues were confusing and pretty far fetched. I can see how the film was breathtaking in its day, but it belongs on the discount table today.

Braveheart and Forest Gump are among the two best movies of all-time.

Pulp Fiction, on the other hand, was a worthless piece of crap.

I will admit that I am the one who voted for Forrest Gump. It is the one movie on the list I could watch several times (and have) and it has a great soundtrack.

Schindler's List is an incredible movie. I have seen it once. I think that is enough.

Unforgiven got my vote. Eastwood, Hackman, Freeman, and Harris are in fine form.

That film is one of the great westerns.

Ok, now I understand. That was one of many Seinfeld episodes that I've missed. If that's the case, I ought to start watching the syndicated reruns, as Elaine is obviously a brilliant character.

Forest Gump was one of the most infuriating movies that I have ever seen. The movie was simply awful in every way possible. It was made worse by all the people who talked about it being great. Braveheart was entertaining.
