Salt Lake City by the Beach Boys--

Down in Utah
The guys and I dig a city called Salt Lake
It's got the grooviest kids
That's why we never get tired of Salt Lake
And the way the kids talk so cool
Is an out of sight thing
And the number one radio station
Makes the town really swing yeah
Salt Lake City we'll be coming soon

There's a park near the city, yeah
All the kids dig the Lagoon now
It's full of all kinds of girls
And rides and we'll be flyin' there soon now
And girl for girl
They've got the cutest of the Western states
They got the sun in the summer
And winter time the skiing is great yeah
Salt Lake City we'll be coming soon

Salt Lake City we'll be coming soon

We'll be coming soon
We'll be coming soon
We'll be coming soon

Good list overall, but John Denver?

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

I forgot these:

Georgia by Ray Charles
Dock of the Bay by Ottis Redding
Africa by Toto
Down Under by Men at Work.

I think we're up to five continents now. Anyone know any songs about S America or Antartica?

Here is the winner folks. Nothing can match this little gem:

(307) In Our Lovely Deseret
Brightly

In our lovely Deseret,

Where the Saints of God have met,
There's a multitude of children all around.
They are generous and brave;
They have precious souls to save;
They must listen and obey the gospel's sound.

[Chorus]

Hark! Hark! Hark! 'tis children's music—
Children's voices, oh, how sweet,
When in innocence and love,
Like the angels up above,
They with happy hearts and cheerful faces meet.

That the children may live long

And be beautiful and strong,
Tea and coffee and tobacco they despise,
Drink no liquor, and they eat
But a very little meat;
They are seeking to be great and good and wise.

They should be instructed young

How to watch and guard the tongue,
And their tempers train and evil passions bind;
They should always be polite,
And treat ev'rybody right,
And in ev'ry place be affable and kind.

They must not forget to pray,

Night and morning ev'ry day,
For the Lord to keep them safe from ev'ry ill,
And assist them to do right,
That with all their mind and might
They may love him and may learn to do his will.

Text: Eliza R. Snow, 1804-1887

Music: George F. Root, 1820-1895

Castles in Spain - The Armoury Show

Ok, it's not really about a place, but it has a place in it's title.

I have to laugh everytime we sing this song in church. It's just awful. And the line about "very little meat" is hilarious. Eliza Snow would roll over in her grave if she saw the amount of tri-tip at our ward's summer BBQ or at the amount of Ham we're going to consume at tonight's ward Christmas party.
