It is a beautiful ride, but by that time you are hurting so you're not enjoying it as much as you would if you were driving.

i take it you don't enjoy suffering. Some of us do. Why else would CG still exist?

There is satisfaction in enduring. That is Lotoja, satisfaction in accomplishing something difficult.

I enjoy a nice sunset, hiking with the dog, or making love with my wife.

It's almost time to sign up, any interest out there.

I am interested though I am uncertain I will be setting any records, timewise. Mike would be your record setter.

when's the deadline? I'm still uncertain about the logistics. As in support during the ride, how I get back to Utah, assuming I'm going back to Utah. Do I need to plan this as part of a family vacation, or is this something I can fly up and do on my own.

Sign up is from April 7th to the 13th. Rooms are tight in Logan the night before so if you know someone in the area that is good. My wife will be doing support for me and she could help you also. Really if a guy wanted to do the ride unsupported it could be done, the biggest problem would be where to unload your clothes and how do get them back. As far as getting back to Logan I could check it out. Lotoja has FB page and I don't think it would be a problem to find a ride back. Also to make sure you can get in we've got a team and nobody has ever been turned down if you sign up under this name.

So I'm trying to price this out:

1. plane ticket
2. mail my bike or take it on the plane
3. car rental
4. hotel
5. cost of entry
6. food

I guess it's safe to say I'm looking at over $1500 for this ride? Archaea?

I just don't think it's in my price range right now to pull this off.

I need a mountain bike, I would like a cross bike, I need a nicer racing bike. The list goes on and on.
