I watched part of the game last night. And then the end this morning.

SMU was very effective when they would run the PNR on the right side. Lansdale would set the pick on Cannon. Then Cannon runs back to cover the guard. But Yoeli is still on the guard. No backside help. Easy layup or dunk. Then later we did get a guy to roll over. But Naar finds his man in the corner for a wide open 3.

Cannon got burned another time by Naar by simply faking and cutting to the basket. Taking advantage of Cannon's eagerness to anticipate and get around picks.

And perhaps the most important thing is that they shut down Bryant. We have one dynamic scorer for BYU. Bryant. I would have to go back and watch again to see how they accomplished that. Part of it may have been lack of aggressiveness on his part. But if they double on him and he kicks, you still need the next guy to do something.

BYU needs another dynamic player to add to the mix. Preferably someone who is athletic, long, and can score. Preferably someone who could sniff the NBA.

In other words, somebody who would never come to BYU.
