Default French economics textbook

Here's a bone for you conservatives:

enjoy this excerpt.

Quote:
Economic growth imposes a hectic form of life, producing overwork, stress, nervous depression, cardiovascular disease and, according to some, even the development of cancer,” asserts the three-volume Histoire du XXe siècle, a set of texts memorized by countless French high school students as they prepare for entrance exams to Sciences Po and other prestigious French universities.

Interesting. Thanks for posting that.

Seems like Mitt has it right on about Europe.

I was pleased to see Sarkozy win in France. I think he has his work cut out for him.

More proof that the French are candy asses. Scared of a little hard work, eh, Pierre?

If it was my decision, I'd love to see a 5 year blockade of all things French coming into the US. That would be fun.

It wasn't just France in that article, Germany was all up in there too, etc.

We have to stay away from economic protectionism in any form from any country.

Oh, I agree about that. I just can't help but take gratuitous shots at the French.

Besides, I prefer bratwurst to croissants, ya know?

This is so true. French students don't even get taught the basics of market economics. They are totally oblivious to these concepts. That's why they take to the streets to demonstrate against jobs programs. Even my liberal democrat of a boss stood aghast at their ignorance.

But they do make good baguettes.

Yes, it's a mystery how people that can produce such gastronomical wonders can allow their dogs to poop on the sidewalks.

My guess is that the dogs don't ask for permission.

Yet another example of tolerance run amok.
