Default Question about torture

is it torture to isolate someone in a room, cuff them in such a way that they are in a stress position, aka fetal position, and then leave them in the stress position for say 72 hours as they defecate and urinate on themselves, are dehydrated and hungry.

For those that think this is not torture, why don't we do this to suspects in crimes?

Why don't we do this to kids in schools?

I really do hope the LDS guy who wrote the rules for some of this crap goes to prison. That would really make me happy.

I know. Obama is pretending to be very upset about it. But he has signaled that he will block all attempts to hold anyone accountable.

Why should Bybee go to prison? What did he do that was illegal? Did he order the torture?

He offered a legal opinion that the President could have ignored. Giving a legal opinion to a client is now a crime?

Please. Jay Bybee wasn't sitting on a desert island producing legal opinions.

He was responsible (with others) for giving the imprimatur of legality and morality to this. He knew exactly what he was doing.

I wasn't going to toss in on Yet Another Torture Thread, but I will say these are total red herrings.

What we do to criminals and/or schoolchildren is not the de facto standard for what we to do terrorist enemy combatants.
