Default The more I read about this stimulus package ...

The more it reads like a massive pork barrel bill. This may be the worst spending bill passed in a generation.

By the way, wasn't it Democrats screaming about the Bush national debt?

It's pretty bad. My friend (and president of the Cleveland County chapter of the Libertarian Party) is now referring to the ongoing bailout/stimulus initiative as The Heist.

"We don't have a moment to spare," Obama declared at the White House as congressional allies hastened to do his bidding in the face of the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression.
What a load of crap. "Not a moment to spare" is what we heard a few months ago when a "critical" $700B bill got shoved through Congress. And it hasn't done squat.

Meanwhile, this is NOT THE WORST ECONOMIC CRISIS SINCE THE GREAT DEPRESSION. I'm not typically an all-caps-guy, but the next human being who utters those words should be executed.

What would it take to get the Destroying Angel to visit Washington?

Well aren't we irritable today. You'd think you'd swallowed a vitamin or something.

Anyhow, I don't think you'd really want a Destroying Angel (whatever the heck that is) to visit Washington, as then you wouldn't get your next economic stimulus check.

LDS term. Should've used the term "destroyer" for the gentiles among us.

when are you and the rest of America going to figure out BOTH parties are the same. They may like to spend on different things, but they both spend like crazy.

Did you also call it a load of crap when Bush, McCain and Palin first invoked the great depression talk when talking about the need for the bailout bill? It's all a load of crap. Both parties are full of it.

Yes, I did. I think invoking the Great Depression is the stuff drama queens are made of, besides being a massive insult to those who lived through the real thing.

And no, I don't think both parties are the same in ways that matter. Yes, they both like to spend (though I think the Dems like it more). I have a hunch that if your precious Libertarians got into power for a few years, they'd do the same. That's not unique to party ... it's endemic to humanity.
