Since the Twelve have basically all of their living expenses and health care covered, they probably look like they have a lot more income than they really do.
BTW, do you guys really think the church, as cheap as it is, paying employees in their various business ventures (like Beneficial Life) well below market value even when they turn a respectable profit, will be shelling out $250K-$500K a year to their Apostles? Especially when that amount well exceeds their needs? Are we counting travel expense reimbursement as part of their salary? I ain't buyin' it. |

Would it be a stretch to speculate that Bronco Mendenhall is the highest paid employee of the church? If so, it really goes to show the importance of BYU Football in the grand scheme of things.

I'm willing to bet there might be a couple of insurance agents for Beneficial Life that make more than Bronco.

Well I wouldn't do the job for anything under 300 and 500 would be just enough to be comfortable.

Why is this such a mystery? They must have something to hide. I bet they have bank accounts like Saudi royalty.

I know your last sentence is probably tongue-in-cheek, but you do bring up a valid point -- why does it have to be such a secret? because it definitely has been a secret.

Is your salary a matter of public record?

because it was felt that keeping it a secret made it less of an issue. If it is determined that it being secret is what makes the biggest commotion, then they may make it public.

In reality, if you knew where to look, because of the size of his firm, it is published in general, as partner profits of large law firms are reported to the ABA and its journal.
