I was walking from my car to my office today and I thought "Hmmm... it feels warm this afternoon." It was 17 degrees. You know things are bad when 17 feels balmy.

I am flying to Austin, TX tomorrow on business and I have really been looking forward to some warmth. Then I found out the entire University of Texas campus will be shutting down tomorrow due to bad weather (snow and freezing rain in the forecast). Argh.....

Our backyard pool has a thin layer of ice on it. This not normal.

Spring needs to come quickly.

But, Al Gore said that global warming is upon us and the ice at the poles is going to melt and we'll all drown.

Actuallly, the husband is a strong believer in the Al Gore school of thought. ugh.

(An aside: Kids are out of school again. That's five days in a row. This is nuts.)

There are an awful lot of tree-hugging granolas up in Montana. They tend to side with Gore on these matters.

It's funny, he got started on global warming again today (somehow the recent ice storm supports the theory). He actually used the phrase "Rome is burning."

I can't tell you how much I love that nut. A little bit of a left-wing zealot, but he's my left-wing zealot.

I am sitting in the SLC airport. Flight to Austin is delayed due to weather. May get cancelled altogether.

I'll assume it's the weather in Texas, as it's rather nice today here in SLC - if sunshine and cold is considered nice.
