Default Children of Men

The wife and I went and saw the new movie 'Children of Men' last night. Sheeesh, that is a tough film to watch. The story is about how the entire world population has become sterile and there has not been a baby born in 18 years. The world is in chaos because people have lost hope.

But, a woman is pregnant and it goes thru her travels to have the baby and have it be born and healthy. Fascinating and very dark movie.

There are several truly terrific scenes...a car on fire which starts a brief and brutal chase...a unique chase scene involving a car that has stalled and guy running in socks and people chasing him down the hill...a quiet scene of awe with lots of stares and tears which I should describe further.

Clive Owen is terrific. Thumbs up but it is a very dark and intense movie.

I caught it the night it opened and have been meaning to review this too. Great film. Clive Owen is one of my favorite actors right now.

This was good, but not mind-blowingly good like I thought it was going to be.

I guess it was a little too predictable for my taste, tho Clive Owen is great.

I actually enjoyed Pan's Labyrinth more, but they are two totally different films.

I want to see Pan's Labyrinth but I can't find it showing anywhere in Utah.

I went and saw Children of Men last night with the old ball and chain. I thought that it had some clear flaws, but it was truly imaginative and great to look at. Especially the scene in the refugee camp when Kee gets seperated from Clive Owen's character which supposedly happened in one take.

And of course the chase scenes in the car with no power and in reverse were fantastic. You have got to love those Latin directors.

Are you sure it's not showing at The Broadway theater downtown. That's usually a haven for Independent or lesser release films. Also I'm not sure it's on wide release yet.

Searching Pan's Labyrinth locations has brought up any in Utah the last time I checked.
