Default Go rent Serenity

if you haven't yet. I want this film to get all the support possible so it increases the chance of a sequel.

It's a good flick. Good review from Roger Ebert.

NYTimes: "Joss Whedon's unassuming science-fiction adventure is superior in almost every respect to George Lucas's aggressively more ambitious screen entertainments."

80% "fresh" rating from Rottentomatoes.com

I mentioned this on your other post...Serenity is fantastic. The story is entertaining and there is some very good action scenes. As you probably know, Serenity is based on the now cancelled FOX television show 'Firefly.' All of the characters from the television show are in the movie. Joss decided to see if he could spark some interest with a movie so that he could make a couple of more of them...movie ticket sales weren't too hot, but DVD sales of the tv show and now the movie have been pretty good so there is a chance.

Joss is truly one of the great writers. He tells a great story, his characters are done well. Buffy and Angel were two of the better shows on television. On top of that, did you know that he is doing the movie version of Wonder Woman? Also, if you care at all...Joss has said that the best show on television, by far, is 'Veronica Mars.' He appeared on a recent episode. Anyway, sorry for the long winded reply.

Seriously "Serenity" was one of the best movies I saw last year.

It's definetly going to be a part of my DVD collection. Joss Whedon has an uncanny ability to flesh out characters very well and add a lot of substance to them.

Great flick.

And buy the one season of Firefly.

I enjoyed the movie a lot, but if you put it into context of the entire series, it's probably my 7th favorite episode or so. The series was brilliant and for the most part, the writing in it was as strong as what got into the movie.

IMHO.

I haven't watched Firefly either and I was able to pick up on the movie rather quickly.

You'll love it. Great entertainment.

It was on FOX, I believe in Fall of 2004. It wasn't heavily promoted. FOX did air some promos for it, but not much was done for it and the ratings for it were pretty dismal. It is kind of a difficult show to explain when you say something like it being kind of a cowboy scifi show...and I think FOX struggled with how to market it very well.

You can purchase the entire first season (14 episodes) from walmart.com or amazon for around $25. It is pretty entertaining.
