Actually, Indy, I'm worried about you. When the day comes that a prophet decides to admit women to the priesthood, apologize for MMM, denounce polygamy and the priesthood ban ab initio, and express agnosticism concerning the true origins of the Book of Mormon, it may be too much for your faith.

I think you understand sarcasm well enough.

Yes, SoCalCoug. I think they are all identical clones.

Santos, I think you should silently rebel and look up the scriptures with the speaker anyway. It would be so cathartic for you.

I don't know Tex as well as you, but he was clearly being sarcastic. But you probably were too, so all's well that ends well!

Further proof that there are at least some members who consider the growth and size of the Church as evidence of its veracity. I think most members probably unwittingly feel this way, even if they claim otherwise.

I don't buy the part about President Monson being laid back and handing over the reigns to BKP. I have it on authority that I would not be comfortable divulging that during the Hinckley years Monson occupied the role of enforcer or "heavy." Not by any means in an inappropriate way, but if a leader was going to get dressed down it was going to happen in President Monson's office and it wasn't going to be in the sweet loving tones we here when he speaks.

I assume that every single apostle is a very, very strong personality. Otherwise they would not be where they are. Just my opinion.

I consider President Monson a public figure so I dont mind the speculation so much for him (I think its a bit silly) but the speculation about Sister Monson is in poor taste in my view. Particularly labeling her as a "hag." I understand she has some public profile but its fairly modest. Now if someone writes a hagiographic biography about her then I would be symphatetic to more realistic portraits but I don't think we are at that point ...

P.S.

Yes MW, I will nominate myself for mullah of the year
I concur with Pelagius here. The speculation about Presdient Monson is not surprising but, as my grandpa once told me and I would reiterate to believers, "You may not be able to help it, but you should learn to overcome it." Does this sort of information help anything?

As to Sister Monson, Adam once again flaunts his knack for tact and wisodm.

I have it on good authority that President Monson was out of control at the Jazz playoff games....talking trash to the opposing players, yelling at Sloan on the bench, taunting the refs, calling for Boozer to be traded, etc.
