Default Venkman (or anyone else who agree with him) tell me why I should be opposed to

Gay marriage.

I'm reading some very convincing arguments from the Adam/waters/socalcoug side. What are your arguments?

Is it:

1. Because the prophet has said so? (there is something to be said for us following the direction of the man we say receives revelation from god)

2. Because it destroys the family? if this is true how does gay marriage do this?

Any others that I am missing? This is an honest question.

I'll defer to someone smarter, more eloquent, and more persuasive. Right now, I'm busy, got a tranny to rebuild.

Like I said, I'm not persuasive. But if it's an honest question, I'd google Stanley Kurtz and gay marriage. He's written extensively on the Scandinavian experience with gay marriage on national review.

Here was an attempted counterargument to gay marriage but without any coherent causal link with the breakdown of traditional marriage.

Gay marriage could be blamed for the price of gasoline about as easily as for the problems of straight people to have normal, stable marriages.

1. It leads to awkwardness when kids ask "why are those two men married"?
2. It makes you think about the plumbing of gay sex
3. Because it means that liberals win
4. Because we are fixated on a 1950's ideal that actually never existed, and wasn't so ideal
5. Because our fathers told us to never trust faggots
6. Because before you know it we will be dressing in three-piece separates, and guys in plaid shirts and jeans will be mocked
7. just because
8. don't ask why
9. why do you keep asking, are you a fag?
10. leave me alone
11. that's it, I'm getting the shotgun

Did I miss any?

Don't you think it's hypocritical to oppose same sex marriage but also hang out with transvestites?

First let me get the grease off my hands.

There. I'm a traditionalist on this, so my answers will not satisfy I'm sure. This is good enough reason for me:

"The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity."

The term "marriage" is an ideal. I think it should be retained for that relationship between a man and a woman. Anything that muddies the water on that chips away at the ideal.

I'm not opposed to legal remedies for gay couples that give them pretty much the same thing that heterosexual married couples have. They have already been granted many of these same rights. I just want to retain the term "marriage" for men and women.

I'm going to go help Venkman with that tranny now. An auto mechanic's work is never done.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

1 Timothy 4 teaches that in addition to demanding the abstinence of food, we should be forbidding marriage.
