Huntsman endorses Romney
this really helps the ol' Mitt. Less competition for the grown-up moderate vote.

My favorite thing that Huntsman did during his campaign was deflate Trump. He was the first guy to say he wasn't going to the Trump debate, and that it was a joke. Trump is still pissed about that. Trump has not been missing any opportunities to bag on Huntsman (who cares).
His high-water mark was likely the Sunday morning debate before the NH vote, when Huntsman zinged Romney really good on the "serving your country" point. And yes, the brunette daughter is the hot one. |

Huntsman's quitting always pisses me off. Ambassador to China, could have made headways for the Church in that part of the world. He quits after 9 months. After polling at 3% nationwide, surges into 3rd place with 17%. The media loves intra-anything feuds, so it would have concocted a Romney-Huntsman rivalry and bring the Church into the spotlight. Then he quits.
He served as governor for how long?

Who knows, who cares.
Hopefully he can do something useful in the next 4 years that raises his profile, and allows him to prove his bona fides. Not to mention improving his communication and strategy... But Douthat has written that Huntsman has no chance in 2016, given the heavy hitters who will be in line then (Jeb, Christie, Rubio, Palin, etc, etc.). I hope he is wrong. |
