While I agree that it's a little bit silly how anxious we are to refer to people as black (Charles Barkley being a great example), it really shouldn't be mysterious why we do it. At all.
"Black" isn't about ancestry; it's about skin color. Those who are obviously not "white" are considered "black." Obama's skin is not white; therefore, he's black. Simple as that. |
