"Had I known my twins had Down's syndrome, maybe I would have aborted them."

It's interesting how this (what she implied) is competely non-controversial in our society.

I guess cynics have never traveled outside of their time zone.

At a 92% termination rate following prenatal diagnosis of DS, I'm guessing it's a pretty safe bet she would have.

I've actually seen some women offended that Palin did not abort her infant, who will no doubt grow up to be a burden upon society and a blight upon the landscape. Wow.

It's a brave new world out there.

While I'm not particularly passionate about social issues, that attitude is one of the main reasons I support the pro-life movement.

Just out of curiousity, how many here have actually read Brave New World?

Fun book.

Slowly, very slowly, like two unhurried compass needles, the feet turned towards the right, north, northeast...

I read an article a while back on a lady in NYC who had a down's syndrome baby. She related the nasty looks and comments she'd get from other women who thought she was irresponsible and cruel for bringing a "thing" like this into the world. Seriously, one of the more depressing things I've read. I can't believe how shallow and self-absorbed our society has become.

yeah. Being the cynic that I am, I can't help but wonder how Trig's place in McCain's campaign would be different if he were past the cute infant stage. It's interesting and sobering to see how reactions to your kid differ over time.

I have to admit it would be nice to finally have a disability advocate in the White House, though.
