I think Smails' theory is a good one, and it's what I first thought when I read the story. I'm not gonna automatically assume it and side with the bishop/stake prez, but that's kinda what I thought. The whole thing is just too illogical. Kids just don't get kicked out of BYU unless there's something pretty serious going on.
