Americans say they would be less likely to support a candidate if he or she were:

Atheist 61%
Muslim 45%
Mormon 25%
Evangelical Christian 16%
Hispanic 15%
A woman 12%
Jewish 11%
Catholic 7%
Black 6%

If their son or daughter started dating someone form a religious group different from their own who would cause the most concern?

Muslim 42%
Atheist/Realist/Humanist 17%
Mormon 14%
Protestant 3%
Roman Catholic 2%
Jewish 1%

I guess the bright spot is we are getting big enough to have our own spot.

When was the poll conducted? If since the FLDS raid, that may have impacted the poll somewhat...

I think Jewish at 1% and Protestant at 3% does not reflect real views. I think that respondents didn't think it was socially acceptable to say that they would be concerned if their child dated a Jew.

Maybe. Most Jews I have known were not religious. So I think I might feel better about my child dating a Jew who might be more ambivalent to our own beliefs than say an Evangelical who thinks we're going to hell.
