Default The new version of cougarguard...

I think I may have accidentally lost a day's worth of posts...not sure. I've had to go through so many trials and tribulations to get this far, that I think we are going to roll with what we have.

There is an incredible amount of tweaking that I/we can still do. I imagine the site will look different in a couple of months.

But as you explore you will see that you have tons of new options, including buddies, ignore lists....you can even change the way you view posts--> you can make them threaded like cougarboard if you so choose.

I know that several of you expressed a desire to help out financially with the cost of this. Let me try and figure out the best way to do that. I'll get back with you shortly.

So enjoy, and be sure to give feedback on anything that isn't working or anything you would like changed.

I should also mention that CP and Pen and Sword are now only visible to members of those groups. I think that is an improvement (not that I couldn't have done it that way with the other software).

Looks great, Mike. Good job!

A few questions/observations:

1) On this thread, your message is to the right of your avatar (I like it that way). On some threads the message goes below the avatar (wastes space, IMO). Is this a setting we can change? If so, how?

2) For the donations, do you have a Paypal account?

3) I miss the "View posts since last time you logged on" link. But I did find a "View today's posts" link.

4) What exactly does "Senior member", "Member", and "Junior member" mean? And can we come up with a special category for Lingo? ;-)

OK, it appears that item 1 was a global setting that you must have changed.

And it looks like the "New Posts" link addresses item 3.

Is there a setting that would force the maximium image width for the image in the left-channel? That would make the text align better down the page. For example, set a maximum width of 200 pixels. If someone had an image more than that, the "height" and "width" dimensions in the HTML would scale appropriately. Just a thought...

when I imported the avatars, I guess it kept (to some degree) their original size.

I'm going to ask folks to voluntarily reduce their avatars to a max of 200 pix by 200 pix.

Eventually, if not in compliance, avatars will either be resized (if I'm feeling generous and have the time) or be deleted, so you can upload them again to the proper size.

I appreciate everyone's help in this.

You tried, and it didn't work?

If that is the case, I'll have to look around and see if I can change a setting.

There's only about a billion settings in the control panel. It's much more complicated than phpBB.

Does the calendar work for all? I just posted something pretty stupid -- yet factually correct according to the 2006 Simpsons wall calendar -- can others see it?
