The McGee pick is truly baffling

"I'm happy for Stephen McGee," said Texas Tech coach Mike Leach, whose quarterback, Graham Harrell, was not drafted. "The Dallas Cowboys like him more than his coaches at A&M did."

As the third round came to a close Sunday without his name being called, McGee left his house in disappointment. It wasn't until an "unknown number" popped up on his cellphone, with Jones on the other end, that McGee's mood improved.

"I've said all along that certainly if I would have been in a pro-style offense that it pretty much would have guaranteed that I would have been a first-round draft choice," McGee said. "I could have been in an offense that played to my talents first and foremost."

This is a guy who rode the bench last year because Sherman, a former NFL head coach and OC, thought the other guy was better.
