Default Looks like Brian Soi is not going to be a cougar.

he has entered the NFL supplemental draft. I am not 100% sure how this works but i dont think he can enter and then return to college its not like the NBA. I doubt he gets chosen but he may be offered a free agent deal.

For those that dont know the supplemental draft is for players that were not eligible for the regular NFL draft or who did not declare and then were maybe kicked out of school or re-withdrew from school for some other reason. If a team selects a player in the supplemental draft depending on which round they select him, they lose a draft pick in that round for next years regular draft. For example Cincy took Ahmad Brooks in the supp. draft last year in round 4, therefore this year they did not have a fourth round pick.

Here is the info on Soi:
Supplemental field set: With the deadline for applications having passed, the NFL has approved 10 players for next Thursday's supplemental draft. The list of mostly suspect prospects includes defensive tackle Robert Armstrong (Morgan State), defensive tackle Clifton Dickson (Florida State), offensive tackle Jared Gaither (Maryland), cornerback RoShawn Marshall (Central Missouri), cornerback Donta Moore (Connecticut), cornerback Paul Oliver (Georgia), offensive tackle Chris Patrick (Nebraska), defensive tackle Brian Soi (Utah State), offensive tackle Aaron Turner (East Central Oklahoma), and linebacker Mark Washington (Texas State-San Marcos). The players most likely to be chosen are Oliver, Gaither and Patrick. A team that exercises a pick in the supplemental draft forfeits its corresponding choice in the April 2008 draft. One other caveat that is rarely mentioned, but which might affect the special-cases lottery: Teams that choose a player in the supplemental draft must be able to fit the prospect into its rookie pool allocation when it signs him to a contract. In light of that, some teams might pass on a player in the supplemental draft and then attempt to sign him as an undrafted free agent. Only the prorated share of any signing bonus an undrafted free agent receives counts against the rookie pool.

Yup. He's a Dolphin.

Apparently John Beck had a hand in getting Soi there, since they were almost teammates at BYU.

Only two players were drafted in the supplemental draft. Soi very well may have signed witih the Dolphins, but he didn't come via the supplemental draft.
