My wife has a mixed taste in movies. She made me watch Close Encounters of the Third Kind, but has also tried to get me to see A Walk to Remember.

I also got her hooked on The Simpsons and she also likes Batman Begins, Superman Returns, Pirates, Lord of the Rings, etc.

Close Encounters is a good film. I haven't seen A Walk to Remember, but Mandy Moore is great in Saved!

To be honest Encounters bored me to death. Movies older than 1985 or so tend to do that to me.

You seem like a fan of big budget action pictures. If we're talking about Hollywood movies, the films in the 30s and 40s, and from the late 60s through the early 80s, are absolutely the best.
