Question for Dan
Can you give me a primer on the history of polyandry and Joseph Smith? My understanding is that he married several wives who were already married. In addition I've heard that in some cases it was without the husband's knowledge. I've also read that there is a strong possibility that these marriages were consummated.
I'd really like to know how this was justified and if it stopped with Joseph. |

... a two week Africa trip. Best primer book is "Mormon Polygamy: A History", by Van Wagoner.
