Yea it's really scary. I'm shocked that he would actually come out and say something like that, and if the people of this country had any sense his popularity would drop to zero after that. The Republican Taliban is generally a pejorative exaggeration, but he seems to be trying to make it a reality.

I think he is specifically talking about amendments stating marriage is between and man and a woman and against abortion.
What does Mitt say about these two issues?

He should say nothing and speak almost exclusively about the economy. I see nothing to be gained by speaking on social issues which cause Republicans to lose.

For those of us with family in the South who are baptist (me included) there is a marked difference between an LDS member discussing God in general terms when speaking about political issues such as a marriage amendment.
In the baptist world many members cannot do this. THere is no separation which tends to create a fervor or zealous perspective when discussing anything that God might be involved in. |
