Default Texas Republicans evenly split on whether to stay in US or secede

http://www.dailykos.com/statepoll/2009/4/22/TX/288

A majority of Texas Republicans support Perry for suggesting that Texas may secede.

Ah, what patriots.

Texas was a country, paid for in blood. Texas and the United States joined as two nations becoming one. Don't you forget that.

6 flags over Texas may become 7.

Texas is the only state where it is legal to fly the state flag and the US flag at the same level, and in fact, that is the way you usually see the flags displayed here. Texas negotiated its way into the US, and that was one of the terms of the deal. I wouldn't want Texas to leave the US, but on the other hand, if it did, I don't really think I'd be any worse off personally. Still, it won't happen in my lifetime.

And on that note, I offer the following link about Texas history:

Texas won't leave the United States.

The United States may leave Texas, however.

The actual poll questions were:

QUESTION: Do you think Texas would be better off as an independent nation or as part of the United States of America?

QUESTION: Do you approve or disapprove of Governor Rick Perry's suggestion that Texas may need to leave the United States?

Neither of those questions was about whether or not Texas should actually secede. Cali's post headline is misleading.

In the US or out, I guarantee you no Texas Republican signed on for a giant "General Betrayus" ad, or tried to declare the surge a failure before it even began.

Their only crime is loving America too much.

A long-simmering movement by liberal stalwarts in southern Arizona to break away from the rest of the largely conservative state is at a boiling point as secession backers press to bring their longshot ambition to the forefront of Arizona politics.

A group of lawyers from the Democratic stronghold of Tucson and surrounding Pima County have launched a petition drive seeking support for a November 2012 ballot question on whether the 48th state should be divided in two.
Ah, what patriots.

Too bad Cali isn't here anymore to take his lumps. Well ... no it isn't.

I'm ok with the liberals in AZ splitting off and forming their own state as long as they get no senators, and if they are below average on population per congressman, no reps in Congress either.
