No matter how you spin it, you can't use the evil act of another to justify your own evil act. And to support those who do so in retaliation is wrong. For those people who supported that Ellie lady for committing a worse act that what that sick man did (and yes Murder is the greatest sin IMO), that was just Islamic. Also, for didn't Christ stay that the whole eye for an eye thing was wrong? We have the law for a reason. If I had a child that was the victim of sexual abuse, I would be seething with anger, yet if I went out and killed the perpetrator, I would be no better, if not worse.

What I think was so wrong about what Ellie did, was that not only did she take the law into her own hands, but she committed murder. She only got 5 years in jail when she probably should have spent the rest her natural life in prison, as it was premmeditated, and the community supported her? That is sickening. As for her childs abuser, he should have spent the rest of his life behind bars as well. God nor the law gave us that right individually for a reason.
Again, I can tell you don't have kids.

I never said it would be right to kill a child abuser. But I sure can understand why it would happen.

Of course, I would understand the anger. I would be insanely mad if that happened to any of my children. Hell, I got evicted from one of my apartments while I was at BYU and I got back at two of my roommates by pissing on their toothbrushes and in their milk. What I don't agree with and am sickened by was the show of support and condonement of Ellies act of murder. It just shows a very dark side of human nature.
