Interesting take. The church is obviously not the first large organization to have put a lot of effort in PR for a while and not seem to move the needle. Maybe I'm just around the right people, but regardless of what the people I associate with at work might think about my religion in general, I have had pretty much universally positive interractions with those I work with about being mormon whenever it has come up. Of course I don't live in a traditionally high-LDS area. But hasn't the research shown that those who have negative impressions about mormonism are also very likely to have not personally known any mormons? The PR campaigns seem to matter a lot less than personal interractions.

I agree with you BlueK to an extent. I think in a lot of cases people are positive to your face, but harbor negative feelings behind your back.

It's sort of like racism. Most racists aren't going to belittle a black colleague to their face.
