Several of those I just use as references. A couple I don't own--but my dad does--and I grew up with them.

Your father must be quite a man.

He was a Church history buff in the 70s, but when the Mark Hoffman thing hit in the mid-80s he really got into it. I've never thought of this until just now, but he's the one who "innoculated" me.

Which makes me wonder what is the proper age to "innoculate" our children. I have no idea if I am doing it correctly, however, I speak frankly to my kids without trying to attack their tender faith.

My college gal was never interested and would tell me so. My wife doesn't care.

My other daughter says, "oh dad, don't be that way."

My younger sons are more interested. I tell them JS had multiple wives but they still find him a prophet. I inform them about "translation" issues and they still treat BoM as divine scripture. We read multiple biblical translations.

And provide snippets from Lost Christianities or DoM or Rolling Stone books.

However I do so without ever suggesting Church isn't authorized by Divinity. I believe by sharing this information while still showing faith, their faith can be more mature when they develop it, and they won't be forced into shocking realizations.
