I am certain it will suck. The thing I forget about century plus distances is that there are periods when it hurts no matter what. There will be periods when we will each have to pull the other along. Right now, my sucky period hits me at about mile 90. I'm trying to push that to mile 120 or so, but this week a family reunion is taking me to Arkansas. Sucks. So I will get to borrow a bike and ride no more than two hours. Oh the cruelty of being stuck to so few.

I got 300 this past week, pretty cool. However, one day my legs were quivering, and shaking. I wonder what that means.

You are still pretty young, so this may not matter, but be sure to take care of your achilles tendons (warm-up, stretch after, etc.). In my experience doing lots of miles wihtout a good base can lead to strains and that is a real drag that takes a long time to recover from.

I did a metric century after having a bike for a week.

In basketball shorts and basketball shoes.

The knee tendonitis kept me off the bike for a month. I think I avg'd 15mph. Probably one of the last metric century guys to come in.
