anyone notice the complete absence of pass rush?
I was telling Salchi before the game that we have very little team speed, esp. on defense. Sure was exposed today.
I've always thought out LB's were average at best. Didn't help for them to get hurt. But still, they can't get to the quarterback. I'm afraid it's going to be years before BYU is on the national scene, and if Bronco can't recruit something fierce, it's going to be longer than that. Maybe never. We dont' have good enough coaching to overcome our lack of talent. |

I'll assume that Rita had no effect on satellite broadcast?
Hope all is well your way as far as the weather is concerned.
As for your post, I was under the impression that BYU had superior talent at all positions. At least that's the opinion of a few morons on that other board. I heard that there were several injuries to Y players. Who and to what extent?

Cam Jensen went out, then came back in later. I think Marquardt got hurt, not sure how bad. Walkenhorst on crutches. Soelberg out. I think our black cornerback, can't remember his name, #15, got hurt (I am describing him for identification's sake, not for racisms' sake).
That's for starters. |

Ouch...
Cam Jensen is a stud. Hopefully for your Cougars' sake, he'll remain healthy. I hate to see any kid get hurt. It's more fun to see a game played when nobody goes down.

Bronco was saying after the game that 11 people on the two deep chart were injured. To what extent I don't know, but losing the two corners really hurt. They stopped bringing pressure because the corners couldn't stay with #17, or anybody else for that matter.
Mania Brown went down too. Along with the others mentioned above. With no pressure on the QB he had all day long to stand there and find one of the open guys. One stop on the final four drives of the game was all they needed to win. Or a first down on 3rd and 1. Sitting there watching the game, not until they missed the PAT did I ever think that the Y would lose that game. What an aweful thing to see. And to quote our Ute brothern, "it was a fumble!" |
