My grandma described lots of suffering women, but not men. I tend to go with her account of how things were.
Of course, you're also hearing it from a woman's point of view.

I'm sure the amounts and sources of misery varied from household to household.

Overall, she said the women were miserable--in all households. She said there was horrendous jealousy and fighting.

I'm not denying that many women were miserable under that arrangement. I'm just pointing out that it may not have been a bed of roses for many men as well.

Hell - I have a hard enough time giving my one wife the attention to make her happy. Always wanting to chat with me when I'm reading, watching TV, playing xbox, watching the game, etc. I'd be in hell trying to divide my time to make two wives happy....

Oh, sorry for misreading you. I don't want to get in a back and forth with you. You always win.

It's my observation that women are generally more miserable on their 18 month missions than men are.

It's my observation that women tend to be more miserable than men period. It's certainly not always the case, and my view may be skewed by my naturally good-natured outlook, but it's always seemed to me women allow their emotions to get the better of them far more often than men.

You missed the part of my post talking about ALL men, not just those practicing polygamy.

I don't believe in the Celestial Kingdom. Am I a bad person?
