whoever wins the NL West, be banned from the playoffs. There is no way that a sub .500 team should be allowed in with a dozen teams with better records being left out of the playoffs. Give the Cards a bye first round or let someone else in.

The same reason why Oakland or Siena should not be allowed into the March Madness tourney with a 13-16 record.

I agree. What kills me is that my Red Sox have spent a total of maybe 3 days out of first place all season and now there is a very real chance that they won't make the playoffs.
