Default Notice they didn't survey any specialty physicians.

One of the reasons is that they'd only have one payer to keep happy instead of dozens. Simplifies paperwork and lowers overhead.

we basically have socialized medicine already.

Doctor's salaries are down.

The present system doesn't really serve the doctors' financial interests.

A two-tiered system might be better in this respect.

I also noticed the article failed to point out that countries like Great Britain are now asking women to not have their babies at the hospital because there isn't enough money to do it.

Socialized medicine is not the answer. For those who are for it, I again challenge you that if you want it, then you pay for it. Don't put my money where your mouth is.

how are you going to get medical care after you retire?

My point is that in many respects we already have socialized medicine. Who pays for county hospitals? Who pays for emergency care for the uninsured? Who pays for Medicare and Medicaid?

How?

Well, I have an account into which I put money that will be solely for medical bills after retirement.

I'm not talking about Medicare or Medicaid. I'm talking about the national healthcare plans that Mrs. Clinton and Obama want to shove down our throats.

I say either make it voluntary - those who support it can pay it and use it; those who don't support it don't pay it and can't use it.

Either that, or if, as so many liberals like to say, it wouldn't cost that much, then those who want it can pay their part and my part - I mean, if it really isn't that much, that won't be a problem, right?

Is this country better off when everyone has access to a basic level of medical care?

If you support medicaid and medicare, it's like you are saying that the country is better off if the poor and the disabled and elderly have access, but not everyone else.

Is the country or it's citizens better off if there is access to it?

I pay for private medical insurance. I don't want socialized medicine because I don't want to foot that bill as well.

Again, why not have those who support it pay for it and those of us who don't want it won't pay for it, nor will we be able to access it?

I hear the same argument made against schools.

I hear the same argument against tithing. (if God tells you to do something or else you will be cast off from his presence and removed from his society, how different is that than going to prison.)

There are always people who don't want to put their shoulder to the wheel. Who don't want to contribute to the common good.

Just as you tell people that support this that you don't have to support this, well, they can tell you to go somewhere where you won't have to.

It's a simple fact that a lot of Mormons place mammon and capitalism above the gospel. If the gospel and capitalism conflict, then capitalism wins.

Sad commentary.
