To add to this crazy tale of serendipity, I also somehow stumbled across these teams called the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Lakers. But enough about me. I am more interested in hearing how people who grow in Utah become Utah or BYU fans. PS yes, family attended SC, as well

There are many schools in Southern California. Why did you choose to latch onto USC? |

My older brother went there. He went in the late 70s/early 80s..right when Marcus was there. Our family is an SC family. Sister, niece, etc... If not for joining the Church, I would have gone, as well. When Marcus left, he was drafted by the Raiders, which led to my NFL affiliation. Growing up in LA in the 80s....I just assumed all LA teams won championships all the time. Marcus won a Super Bowl with the Raiders. The Dodgers won 2 World Series and were almost always in the playoffs. The Lakers won 5 of 8. The 90s were a massive wake-up call for LA sports...no championships, both NFL teams leave, SC goes into the proverbial tank. Fast forward to the 2000s and things have returned to normalcy in LA sports. And this Saturday, my older brother and I are going to the SC game together.

I think Mike or Archaea must have dropped that line into my quote because they know I hate SC. |

As long as SC is in the conversation, I am fine.

LOL. That is a motley looking crew, for sure.
Towards the end it looked more like a Far Side cartoon than real human beings.

For you band geeks, did you see the halftime show where Cal (or maybe it was Stanford)'s band played Nintendo themes and mimicked the various games? Mario going down the pipes, Zelda (Link?) fighting bad guys, etc.
