Weird how the Urban haters who condemn him are BYU fans.

If I were a Ute fan, I would either hate or be indifferent towards UM.

Weird that there is such rabid love for UM by Ute fans. It's like the dweebish guy in the singles ward who tells you about the one time he dated a Ute cheerleader. 15 years ago.

I admired Urban until he abandoned Utah in the middle of the night. By impoverishing the MWC, I detested him.

Was anybody really surprised by this? Urban did what most D1 coaches do. It's called a career path.

Surprised no, but he in one breath was saying, "I'm here for life, while he was packing his bags with cell phone on hold to Florida."

This is my problem with urban as well. obviously, i loved the fiesta bowl year, but i felt left high and dry. it really seems that there aren't any paterno's left - guys who are devoted to building something and seeing it through to the end. then again, maybe joe-pa really was a one of a kind rarity.

arch - from your earlier post about kitchen runs, etc... close basketball games w/ fouls in the final 2 minutes must drive you INSANE!

Did he actually say that? If so, then I agree that is wrong. The bottom line is that aside from the unique situation at BYU, I don't think most fans of schools that are not traditiional powers expect coaches like Urban to stay long.

Utah <> Penn State. That's the issue. MWC schools are seen as stepping stones in a coaching career path.

I hate that stuff, but I also have a bike trainer where I can do some interval work plus I often grab the book I'm reading to review those times.
