It's his job not to be content. If you can never be content as a fan, then why in the flying hell are you a fan??? If you've experienced nothing but one week of bliss in the last 23 years, you seriously need help.

Mike, it must really suck to be you sometimes. Such a tortured, miserable existence. On the other hand, if you ever decide to write a novel or produce great art, you will have the proper resume'.

Those of us who cast about for challenges, we wouldn't be satisfied to do anything else.

When I was 12 and crossed the finish line first place in the AAU national championships as anchor of the mile relay, I have to admit, my reaction was disappointment. "That's it?"

The good part is that there is probably no achievement that will inflate my ego to the size of Urban Meyer, et. al.

Aha.....

Yes, and the rest of us wankers who wallow in mediocrity and complacency will never experience such lofty heights. Gotcha.

In any case, it is nice of you to let us hang with you.

Boy it's weird seeing Lebowski and others post things I'm thinking.

You can be ok with your complacency. Just don't begrudge me my non-complacency.

There is room enough in the world for Archaeas cycling up the mountain, those riding their beach bikes at the park.

I think perhaps the best way to understand me and Archaea-types is to mentally picturing Michael Jordan, not shooting a game winning basket, but sitting in the back of the bus on the way to next baseball game.

The rest of the world didn't understand. But me and Archaea understand.

Oh, I don't have a problem with your "non-complacency". It is your penchant for negativism and your condescension that puzzle me at times. In other words, your tendency to mistake perspective and balance as complacency.

Did you just compare yourself to Micheal Jordan? You have exactly one athletic achievment in your life and that is getting popped in teh nose at a ward basketball game, that is probably the most you have ever contributed in your life at a sporting event and that is only because it allowed your own team to sit your ass on the bench.
