Look, here's the deal. Many Ute Fans, including some of the best, have made whining over BYU RUTS their 14th Article of Faith for the past 20 years. It was further proof that BYU was not what it professed to be, evidence of the lack of class at the university and within in the fan base. Utah was a better place, a place with vision, a place where principles reigned.

Now comes a blatant example of Utah RUTS, and not just throwing the ball down field in the 4th when up 30. This was really in your face stuff. The irony is great, especially seeing all the Ute Fans contort to defend KWhit's moves. It brings me a burning in the bossom. But as Goat said yesterday, they should just all have a big bowl of shut the hell up.

I really don't care about RUTS. I guess it can be classless, but as someone pointed out, this is football, not life. Stop us if you can. If you can't, then that's the price you pay. I remember getting blown out by CSU and BSU a few years ago, and I think BSU went a little far. But all I remember thinking is, "I never want this to happen again." My emphasis certainly wasn't "class."

That said, I love the juxtaposition between Bronco sitting down the last play of the game rather than run it in from the two and Kyle running an onsides kick while up 40. That's priceless.
I agree completely about those that defend KW's decision. Those are they whom I call zoots (thanks to Goatnapper for that gem) because they have become everything they of which they accused BYU fans.

Yes, mp started that on this site. I should have been more clear about utefans and jefe's board. That's where the zoobs are expressing their dismay about such an egregious lack of sportsmanship.

As for Bronco, he did a good thing, but now I'll play the role of defender and point out that KW could have put Mack back in the game for one last play because he was just 2 yards shy of a 6th consecutive 100+ yard rushing effort (not only that, he probably would have scored as well), but KW had enough class to tell Grady (the backup QB) to kneel down.

In addition to RUTS he learned some mercy at BYU.

I'll agree that Ute faithful should be enjoying a strong performance instead of talking about this - especially the "class" thing which rankled me.

But I don't think Thucydides should be considered unoriginal, banal, or trite.

KW did put in the second stringers in the 4th quarter. This kick was in the third quarter.

My area of disagreement with folks over on CB is not there calling "the act" classless, but using it to then attack the character of Whittingham. How shallow and hypocritical. Those that attack the most you will find the most willing to defend a mistake made by one of their own. Of course it isn't anywhere near as bad as TBS. At least on CB you can dissent from the group without have the group turning on you and questioning your ancestory.

It has been the most entertaining part of the entire year, without doubt. Utah embarassing WYO for some stupid comments followed by the middle finger, it does appear like a brawl in the trailer park. I am sure the BCS elitists will be laughing over MWC poor white trashness..as there is no doubt millions tuned in on CSTV to watch that baby!

We are who we are, so can Solon come and pull my finger?

I endorse this observation. I'm still enjoying Kyle's very earnest post-game explanation that he had to hold Glenn accountable for his words (I'll ignore Kyle's much smarter explanation last night that he just got a little carried away--I'm fine with that).

As I watched the first explanation, however, I was wondering, "How will Whittingham hold George ('I guarantee it!') Zimmer of the Men’s Wearhouse accountable when, contrary to the salesman’s assurances, Kyle’s recently purchased ensemble does, in fact, make him look fat?"

Kyle missed the chance for a classic quote.

We were fully invested in running up the score at a higher level.
