Good discussion. WE find we are in agreement and though it took a while, it was done in a congenial manner.

I want to hear the parable of the stupic cow. Hopefully, it will change my life as well!

Sorry, I couldn't get past the "really liked Texas" part of your hypothetical. It's just not credible.

Isn't that really why it's a hypothetical? Nobody would ever really make that assumption.

It wasn't you I was hoping wouldn't get past that. I was hoping Indy wouldn't, but as usual had to make some commentary on why my post is bizarre or irrelevant.

How did he become the "quality control" person for posts?

I think BYU is smart enough to take the first approach with nonmembers. And I'm not so sure their approach with members is as extreme as your second example. But of course I have no idea firsthand.

I think you are right about BYU being smart enough to lay the rules thing on but not the religion thing. As a matter of fact I have heard Bronco talking about wanting the non-members to honor their faith.

My conversation with a players parent came after or during (can't remember) Bronco's first year and things he/she read in the papers. After that year it wasn't mentioned again.
