I haven't watched a BCS game since Utah's Fiesta Bowl. Absolutely no reason for me to watch.

Again, you're ignoring the point. Not only does the BCS shut out those they don't want included, it is a cartel that is all about hording as much money as they can but still claims to be fair and grant equal access to all teams, which is patently false. Duke can go 0-12 and still have a better shot at a high paying bowl game than a non-BCS team that goes 11-1.

Is it?

Are you saying that Duke, by the mere fact that it is in the ACC does not have a better chance of getting an invite to a BCS game than a team like Bowling Green?

You drink the computer poll kool-aid. You've bought in to that BS.

I'm not ignoring your point. I am disagreeing with it.

College football is doing just fine, thanks.

More D-1 teams in the BCS than out of it, so I think there is more inclusion than not.

I actually agree with you that they do have a better chance.

My question is: so what?

I'm one of those who believe that if there is going to be a national champion in collegiate sports, it should be decided on the field/court/playing surface in a tournament format and all teams that play that sport in each division should be granted an equal chance.

Yes, there are more teams that are included than not included. The problem is that not all are included.

That
is the point.

It has never been that way in football. What does the BCS have to do with it?

The championship in football has always been a result of voting.

Before the BCS, the teams that the BCS have decided are unworthy to participate had a chance. 1984 ring a bell?

While the precious method was chosen by voters, it was a helluva lot better than computers deciding it and all teams had an equal shot.

I hate the BCS, but I don't think this is true at all. You can actually see who had the better odds of making a BCS bowl by just looking at the final BCS rankings. Was Duke ever higher than Bowling Green, BYU, Utah or any other modestly successful non-BCS program?
