Default Level of BYU fandom

On a scale of 1-10, how committed a fan are you?

I'm probably 7.5 out of 10. I watch or listen to every game and would gladly pay for the privilege. I go to every game I can. I'm upset after a loss. But I couldn't name the starting offense outside of the specialists. I don't rewatch games. I don't follow recruiting, etc.

My strengths as a fan:

Fan win or lose, not ashamed of it
Cheer for BYU over any other team
Attend as many games as I can, including away games
Would pay to watch BYU on TV when I cannot attend live (now I can, so I am switching to DirecTV)
HATE losing
Love to stand, cheer, etc during the entire game, wont leave early

My weaknesses as a fan:

Very mild interest in recruiting, outside of the notable recruits

I rarely re-watch a game, if not never

I do not wear BYU gear all over town. (I always wear BYU gear to games, but rarely wear BYU gear anywhere else. I have a ball cap that I do wear often.)

I do not like BYU gear or logos all over my house....BYU posters, BYU salt and pepper shakers, BYU lamp, etc..

I do not have a perfect brightness of hope....I do not think BYU is on the same level as the heavyweights of college football, nor do I consider us a "big time" program. I think we are the best mid-major out of all of them.

I do not care much about any BYU sport other than football.

We're pretty similar, except that I have a big collection of BYU hats and shirts. Every season since high school I've purchased a new hat and a shirt in August. It's a silly and wasteful tradition, but it's kind of fun. I don't really wear the BYU t-shirts much except for exercising and during games, but when I wear a hat, it's likely a BYU hat.

For the past few years, I have purchased the coaches polo. When I was in Utah for the 4th, I bought the new Nike coaches polo for this season....pretty cool, very similar to last years, though.

I like the tradition, so I will keep it going. Esp now that they are back to the stretch Y and not the ugly block lettering from the Crowton era (why did everything suck under his regime?)

I dont golf much, either, otherwise I would wear them more.

I can't wear BYU gear to work, so I just dont have much call to rock the BYU stuff. Gym time is definitely BYU t shirt time. Also, Depeche Mode Music for the Masses concert shirt time.

Aside from my Cougarwear, I occassionally don an old Iron Maiden t-shirt to go with my Eddie the Head playlist (run to the hills, loneliness of a long distance runner, running free, aces high, powerslave, die with your boots on, bring your daughter to the slaugher, 22 acacia ave, different world, wasted years, alexander the great, flight of icarus). It's a great exercise playlist.

I have something similar, but with Winger.

Winger has dirty lyrics. I rock to the British metal band, much more sophisticated.

8 or 9? Same as you for all of the above but I would add that I could name most starters on both sides of the ball and rewatch games fairly often. I'm not a big follower of recruiting but I do have tons of BYU clothing, etc. and my office is fully decked out in a BYU theme.
