Couldn't they have kicked a field goal?

They went 5 wide and ran a qb draw. Also on the same drive on 3rd and 1 up 35 they ran a play action pass that went for 35 yards.

I think that would be worse. Most 4th-and-5's will be stopped. Even with 4th and 1, you don't kick a FG. Sort of a catch-22 I guess.

Yeah, that's kind of weak. The play action pass is VERY weak. Keep it vanilla.

Of course, with the current setup, they have to win big. The only thing they have control over is the MOV. But 35's probably enough.

BSU doesn't matter that much. Utah is ahead of them already and TCU will easily pass them if they beat Utah. There is only two spots difference between BSU and TCU.

You've lost this bet the last two years. Third time's a charm?

The numbers don't lie. BSU is overrated. OSU would beat them.
Will your brain explode if Oregon beats Oregon State? Are you having a tough time with the following?

Stanford 36 Oregon State 28
UCLA 23 Stanford 20
BYU 59 UCLA 0

You are thinking of Nebraska...

That's funny.

Boy, if only we had a way to settle this once and for all. If only BYU and Utah could actually play each other...

Exactly.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.
