Default Nike+ question

Can someone just give me the lowdown on what this is? I read the website and it sounds like there are a bunch of open challenges you can enter. Can you do these without their little nike/ipod combo? I run with a Garmin 305 and an non-ipod mp3. Can I still enter?

Nope. You have to do it with an iPod nano or the new wristband ($60).

What exactly does the wristband do?

Eliminates the need for an ipod. The wristband is a flashdrive that receives the signal from the chip in/on your shoe. When you get home from your run the flashdrive disconnects from the wristband and plugs into your usb port. Your data is uploaded to the Nike+ site. The drive also displays pace, time, calories burned and distance while you are running.
