I'm confident that I'm the only U of Memphis graduate on the board. Myboynoah is right about what this means to Memphis. I'm surprised to see so many people bagging on them since they're in a very similar position to BYU -- from an overlooked conference, not well respected, etc. Memphis winning is good for all the underdogs in the world.

Tobias: No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but...but it might work for us.

Admittedly my desire for the SoCal representative to bitch slap Memphis around has nothing to do with basketball.

Is it still possible to be an underdog if you are a #1 seed and favored against one of the most storied programs in NCAA basketball history?

Sure, when you come from a mid major conference and are in the final four, it's David vs Goliath.

Local radio has quoted a number of national media commentators suggesting Memphis is overated or is the odd team out among the other three. I think it is very much like BYU's or Utah's situation in that sense.

Sure, they may be favored, but they don't feel like they are getting the respect that comes with that.

Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

My SoCal head is saying FUCLA wins the game, my SC heart is hoping to see Memphis beat the snot out of the powder blue sissies from Westwood. In this instance, I cannot deny my lifelong hatred of bRuins....Let's go Tigers!!

Nice win for Memphis! I really thought UCLA would roll in this game.
