The more I ponder the Jabari recruiting affair, the more it makes me feel used.

Here is a guy pining away for the NBA and but for the NBA rule, would go there right away. So he, probably through his father's guidance, plan a marketing strategem going coast to coast for schools and end up singling out the three schools mostly like to give him a Fina Four spot next year to up his contract.

Then they position as this nice Mormon kid who doesn't think about fame and fortune. They make allusions to academics, even though he'll barely get his books before he leaves. Clever marketing but I feel very used.

Why LDS would root for him is beyond me, but I generally eschew the NBA, given its group of thugs and criminals.

Just another kid chasing the almighty buck. He won't earn a degree, will be a hecta-millionaire but will rely entirely upon advisers with ten times the education he ever dreamt of.

That part of capitalism is a bit of insane. His guidance group is not young, and he does not benefit BYU. He is now in a black hole.

what's wrong with that? If my son had his talents, I could give him the same advice (although I would almost certainly counsel him to go on a mission).

That's funny Arch, you were hustling to minimize expectations so that CB doesn't bad mouth him when this inevitable day came.

He should have blown BYU off earlier and not played a game. BYU was never on the table
