It's like a "pure shooter" is a guy who can't play defense.
I hope that this is the case, because I am terrible at HORSE.

Have you properly sampled Vanderbilt fan reaction to see if they're towing the party line from their head coach? Get back to me when you do. Thanks in advance.
You, sir, have no sense of humor or irony. To the extent these traits are a sign of intelligence (and I think they are) you fail.

You guys don't get it. I'm 49 tomorrow and Waters is like 24. That's why I said horse.

I didn't realize that you were that old. Dang!

John Stockton is 44. I bet he could take Waters one on one right now.

Whenever SU gets called out for being stupid, he goes to the humor card. Unfortunately, he's talking to the people who identified his ignorance, so he probably should know he's not going to get away with it.

P.S. I think SU is probably not ignorant (though he's not half as smart as he thinks he is), he's just arrogant and underestimates his audience.

Even IF you accept that he was just trying to be funny, you then have to conclude he's John Kerry's joke writer.

You know, it's like MikeWaters put it so eloquently on CB, while Indy and others pelted him with rotten fruit. Nobody remembers the whiners, just the winners. Jeff Green will be immortalized as the guy who made that heroic game winning shot against Vanderbilt, setting up that magnificent win against NC that cracked the Final Four. The alleged travel will be shrouded in the fog of history and mythology.

Xavier's game against Ohio State gives pretty solid evidence, IMO, that they were a legit team that was not overseeded. So why did some loudmouths on CBS complain about Xavier being in the tournament? Simply put, because they come from the Atlantic 10 conference and not something more chic like the Big East. The problem the mid-majors have is they are automatically assumed to suck unless they prove otherwise, and even if they do go out and beat some big name teams before getting into their conference schedules (like Air Force or Drexel) it still doesn't help them as they get passed over for teams like Stanford that did nothing to show they deserved to be in it other than conference affiliation.

I didn't watch the Xavier vs. OSU game because I was out in the stix.

I'm just saying that the talking heads who were talking up BYU were also saying Xavier was overseeded. It wasn't a case of bagging on mid majors.
