We decided against one, fearing the liability should the trampoline become the neighborhood hangout and somebody's kid get hurt.

Flash is a computer nerd and you're a librarian. I don't think you ever have to worry about your place becoming the neighborhood hangout.

wii + xbox + 12 ft HD.

Flash is thinking he's going to have to start charging admission to curb loitering among the riffraff.

Allow me to be the vocie of sanity. Tramps are bad ideas. Borken arms, broken legs, injured neighbors, etc. Kids are cute but trade off the cutes for underdeveloped judgement. Tramps are designed to punish bad judgement. I like Lebowski's stat: 80% are from flaling off, leaving 20% even if you put a cage on it. And I have see a kid fall into the 'cage' (which is typically a mesh) so hard that he ended up wedged between the mesh and the edge of the tramp. Do not get one.

Can we get one fo the doctors to jump in here? (Sorry, that was bad)

Yeah, put them on bicycles so they can get run over by cars, crash into potholes and join street gangs. Every fun activity and exercise has it's risks. Trampolines really aren't as bad as you're making it sound.
