Really enjoyed this one. The hills weren't just demoralizers, but were doable for a schmoe like me, scenery was fantastic, weather pretty good...overall, I had a really nice time.

My riding buddy was doing only his second cycling event, and only did the 38 mile route. I ended up doing the 75 mile. Not a bad day for climbing most of the time.

My kids staffed the first and second stoppoints. You probably didn't notice the first as it was only six miles into it. We organized the volunteers so I hope they were friendly.

This is one that I would do again.
I wanted you to call because we could have fun. The hill before Red Hill or Red Cliffs is the hardest. Unless you do the 134, where one ascends up to White Church.

That is one of my regular weekend rides, out to Calville or Red Cliffs. On hot days, you suffer because no place to refuel.

Well, I should have. But, I hadn't seen my friend in a long long time, and wanted to ride with him as he's a real newbie to riding.

I did find out that there is a "Las Vegas Century" in October that I'm pretty interested in... so, between you coming out here (Utah), and me going out there (Vegas), we'll have to catch up.

I'm intimidated by your riding prowess though. And, you're appetite to ride in the wee hours of the day (5am!!!?).

I will do ULCER and maybe another; I'm on Lotojaclassic wait list. I will probably do Las Vegas and maybe tour de tucson. I want to break the five hour limit for a century.

But right now, I'm not showing any prowess, just slowness and lack of serious training.

Nice. I'm not up to the LotoJa just yet. Couple of guys are here at my work though...something for me to work up to. Maybe another year or two.

Also...where can I find a link to the Las Vegas Century in October? I can't find it anywhere.

I'll see ya at the Ulcer.

Yep...I've got that one in my favorites.

I'm looking very intently on a couple of century rides...
1) Country Coast Classic 6/23/07 - Tours along Highway 1 on the Cali coast
2) Oregon Coast Cycling Festival - 9/8/07 - along Highway 1 down the Oregon coast.

They both sound like a LOT of fun, and great scenery.
