Default Rachel Getting Married

This is a painful movie in many ways. Part intentional (for which the director gets credit) and part the artsy-superlong-handicam-take-scene-goes-forever painful (purposeful, but of dubious credit to the director).

I say intentional, because the movie is all about awkwardness, as sister of the bride arrives for wedding. Anne Hathaway, playing the addict, got nominated for an academy award. She did well. But to be honest, I found myself more intrigued with the performance of Rosemarie DeWitt, whom I had never seen before.

Debra Winger plays a small supporting role as the mother of the sisters.

I think this is one of those movies that you have to be in the mood for. Well-crafted, but somewhat tedious, difficult subject matter, but also pretty predictable.
